I am honored to have received the Blog of the Year 2012 award from my reader, and a great blogger in her own right, Kate Kresse at Believe Anyway. Kate is the person I’d like to be, when I grow up, primarily because she is an unbounded optimist, even when life stinks. Kate says that awards are hugs between bloggers, either giving or receiving. I like that. Kate has received her second star on the BOTY2012 award — she certainly deserves them both! Thank you so much, Kate.
And here are the rules:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join the award’s Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience if you choose to
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
For every time you are given this award, you may add a star to the award badge, up to 6 stars.
Now, my choice:
I hope all of my readers know that if they are bloggers as well, I already think they are wonderful. I don’t care about the subject of the blog, or the polish with which it is presented. I am proud to belong to this group. If I were to award this to more than one person, I’d have to name every single one of you. I love the insights you each bring from your particular corner of the world.
Having said that, though, I now name the one blogger who has been entertaining me — usually with posts so funny I fall over laughing — a fellow who is another of the Renaissance-type people we find on here sometimes. He is a novelist, a blogger, a songwriter and singer/guitar player, and if he isn’t — I mean if you aren’t doing standup, you should be. His blog is:
Pouring my Art Out – http://pouringmyartout.wordpress.com/
The link is for a recent post that, while marginally horrifying, was also so funny I was late to a meeting because I couldn’t stop laughing! Congratulations, and don’t ever stop!

Well deserved
Thank you, Heather — This ended up in Spam — the only one, fortunately. Sorry I didn’t answer right away.
No problem! My spam has been filled with spam lately, luckily no missing comments
congratulations on your award and thanks for sharing it!
Thank you.
